What we did
We have produced a 35-minute animated film that guides visitors through a reimagined version of the works of legendary Dutch Masters. The film closely examines the paintings of Jeroen Bosch, Breugel, Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Mondrian, and explores new ways to bring their art to life.
We sought to honor the artistic signature of the painters by finding a unique angle to showcase their work, from the twisted figures of Jeroen Bosch to the swirling dotted brushstrokes of Van Gogh.

As the visitor enters the main hall of the Remastered exhibition, they are disoriented in a room filled with clocks, creating a sense of anticipation as they count down to the start of the show.
Following a time-lapse sequence that guides the audience through the formation of the Earth,
we unveil a landscape that draws inspiration from the art of Jeroen Bosch. As a renowned artist known for his depictions of heaven and hell, we crafted a setting that encapsulates Bosch's fantastical creations, from his peculiarly imaginative castles and unsettling yet charming characters, to his iconic flocks of swallows.
In our presentation, we introduce Jeroen as a young giant, the mastermind behind his own realm, leading us on a procession to showcase his most remarkable creations.
The focus of the third chapter is Pieter Bruegel the Elder, who is best known for his painting "Triumph of Death". This artwork depicts an army of skeletons causing chaos across a desolate landscape, with burning fires and shipwrecks in the background. We have amplified a specific part of the painting, placing the viewer in the midst of the scene, with the scale of the horse towering over the crowd, creating an intimidating and immersive experience.
In chapter five, we explore the realm
of Johannes Vermeer,an artist known for his depictions of middle-class domestic interiors. Our journey takes us into a life-sized dollhouse, which serves as a framework for showcasing Vermeer's masterpieces.
We categorized all of Vermeer's works based on their angles and composition, selecting those that would be suitable for our setup. To create an authentic atmosphere, we adorned the interior of the dollhouse with furnishings and decor reminiscent of 17th century Dutch style.
We decided to center our attention on Vincent Van Gogh's landscapes in the corresponding chapter.
By exploring relationships and overlaps, we constructed a storyline that effortlessly guides you through his renowned works, serving as the groundwork for our particle simulations, which result in a captivating display of kinetic art.
The concluding section of the Remastered Show focuses on Piet Mondrian's influence, accompanied by energetic, rhythmic music that perfectly complements his work.
We made sure to remain faithful to his systems and meticulously examined each artwork to create a compelling narrative. It was a great experience to breathe life into Mondrian's iconic pieces using animation. Our aim was to start with the fundamental building blocks, showcasing his signature colors, and then unveiling his masterpieces, including Broadway Boogie-Woogie, Victory Boogie Woogie, and Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow, culminating in a stunning finale.
